Plain English Summary
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. This helps us keep the site running. It does not affect which products we recommend or how we score them. We only recommend products we've actually tested and would genuinely use ourselves.
FTC Disclosure
In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines concerning the use of endorsements and testimonials in advertising (16 CFR Part 255), WildPick Reviews discloses that this site may contain affiliate links to products and services we recommend.
As an Amazon Associate and participant in other affiliate programs, WildPick Reviews earns from qualifying purchases. This means that when you click on certain product links and make a purchase, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you.
Which Programs We Participate In
We currently participate in the following affiliate programs:
- Amazon Associates — Our primary affiliate program. Many of our product links point to Amazon.com.
- Other outdoor gear retailers from time to time (REI Affiliate Program, Backcountry, etc.) — disclosed on relevant pages.
How Affiliate Links Work
An affiliate link contains a tracking code that identifies WildPick Reviews as the referring site. When you click such a link and make a qualifying purchase, the merchant records the referral and pays us a commission. The commission typically ranges from 1% to 10% of the purchase price, depending on the product category and retailer.
The price you pay is exactly the same whether or not you use our affiliate link. You are never charged extra for clicking through our links.
Editorial Independence
Our affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content in any way. Specifically:
- We do not accept payment to review a specific product
- We do not change our scores or recommendations based on commission rates
- We do not give positive reviews in exchange for free products
- We are not obligated to recommend any product we receive for testing
- If a product we test fails to meet our standards, we say so — regardless of affiliate commissions
Our business model depends on you trusting our reviews. That only works if we're honest. So we are.
Free or Discounted Products
Occasionally, manufacturers provide products for review purposes at no charge or at a discount. When this occurs, we clearly disclose it in the review. Receiving a product for free does not guarantee a positive review — our scoring is based solely on how the product performs.
